Find a photo. Any photo. On your phone, in a pile in a desk drawer, in an old photo album, tucked into a library book. Now, set a timer for 10 minutes and make up a story about it. Fiction. This is best done with photos you haven’t looked at recently or that are not yours to begin with. A little distance can make for more lively writing.
